ABOUT

THE SPANISH FLIES

From the chaotic streets of Peru here come The Spanish Flies, a high energy latin pop / psychedelic rock band influenced by tropical vibes and electric melodies that will take you on a sonic journey.

ORIGINS: Founding member, Fel Gamarra, is behind the creative process from the music, lyrics and image. Originally from Peru, Gamarra moved to the winter city of Edmonton, Canada in 2014 and brought his music & image to life as The Spanish Flies with Erik Escobar on bass, Evan van Ramshorst on guitar and Izaac Middleton on drums. The band is strongly influenced by latin, tropic, ocean vibes and pop melodies, and these are reflected on their music and live performances.

The Flies are bringing up the psychedelic vibes with their latest single, Mr. Evil, released on February 2019. This song talks about temptation as a big part of life and Mr. Evil is the representation of that temptation. In January of 2017, the band released their debut EP “Ignorance Is Bliss”. Their second EP “Good Things Come to Those Who Wait”,released in August 2018 and has a more matured sound with a mix of pop, rock and a latin flair.

As Fel Gamarra and The Spanish Flies continue to compose, create, manifest and innovate throughout 2019 and beyond, be sure to connect with the project on their social media and digital music streaming platforms for News, Music, Events, Booking, Contact Info, and anything else related.
